8 Day Fatima Pilgrimage

Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

DAY 1: NORTH AMERICA / LISBON. Depart North America for our overnight flight to Lisbon, Portugal. We will be served dinner and breakfast aloft.

DAY 2: LISBON.  We arrive at the Lisbon Airport where we will be met and given an orientation tour of Lisbon including Pombal square, Liberty Avenue, Rossio Square, Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries on the bank of the Tagus as well as a stop at Lisbon's Romanesque Cathedral, the Sé.  Time at leisure before dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 3: LISBON / EVORA / SANTAREM / FATIMA.  This morning we drive to Evora to visit the Capela Do Ossos, Ossuary Chapel.  We will Celebrate Mass here, if available.  The, enroute to Fatima we will visit Santarem, the Church of Marvila and the site of the Eucharistic Miracle. (May have Mass here at the church of SS Milagre). We continue to Fatima and our hotel for dinner and vespers.

DAY 4: FATIMA / BRAGA / GUIMARAES / PORTO / COIMBRE.  This morning we drive to Braga to visit the magnificent Cathedral and the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Monte.  Consecration to the Sacred Heart. Celebrate Mass, if available.  Then we drive to Guimaraes, the cradle of Portugal where D. Alfonso Henriques, the first King of Portugal, was born.  We continue to Porto, the second largest city, to visit the St. Francis Church.  This church is classified as a National Monument in 1910 and World Heritage in 1996 by UNESCO.  Then we stop in Coimbre to visit the great Cathedral and Clare’s Church. (May Celebrate Mass here).  Return to Fatima for dinner and vespers.

DAY 5: FATIMA.  Day of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart.  Today we begin with Mass and then participate in the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra. The "Sacred Way" marks the path taken by the shepherd children of Fatima to their first apparition with Our Lady. It is composed of fifteen small chapels in commemoration of the Passion of Our Lord. Visit the Aljustrel where the children lived; and the Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared after the children’s return from prison. Time for our own devotions. Visit the Museum with the exhibition: Fatima: Light and Peace. Continue with a visit of the Holy Trinity Basilica.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel. In the evening we join the Rosary and candlelight procession.

DAY 6: FATIMA.  Celebrate Mass.   Day of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart.   Today our morning is devoted to visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and the birthplaces of Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia to whom the Virgin appeared for the first time on May 13th, 1917 at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions.  These apparitions occurred monthly from May until October of 1917. Historically, as the entire world was in true turmoil, Our Lady's most prominent message during this time was to pray for world peace.  Continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary where we visit the Tombs of Francisco and Jacinto.  View the monument, that commemorates the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in the square.   Dinner and overnight at our hotel.  In the evening we join the Rosary and candlelight procession.

DAY 7: FATIMA / LISBON. Today we have free time all morning before we check out of the hotel. Drive to Lisbon and check-in at our hotel.  The rest of the day is at leisure prior to our Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant and last overnight.

DAY 8:  LISBON - NORTH AMERICA. An early breakfast or breakfast box, drive to St. Anthony of Padua Church and Celebrate Mass. Then we continue to the airport for our flight home—the end of our memorable Pilgrimage.
